"Kaew will fight anyone, anywhere under 130 pounds," Phillip Wong told reporters after his champion fighter had KO'd Yuthakaan with a lighting hook punch in the second round of a scheduled five-round national title contest.

Wong said Kaew had undergone a modern training program which had toned his fitness level and sharpened his reflexes.

"Kaew had the strength to keep away from the clinches, and he is extremely efficient with his punches and elbows."

Yuthakaan said he never saw Kaew's punches coming.

"I made the mistake of trying to match Kaew with his punches. That's not the way to beat him. He's a very good puncher and he also kicks hard."

Yuthakaan said he has had been beaten only once in 80 fights.

"But this is my biggest loss by far, and I've also lost the title."

Yuthakaan hails from Phuket where he acquired a reputation for using his tough body as a defensive wall. He's regarded as a master grappler.

"I knew he had a strong defence, " said Kaew. " But I had the strike power to break open his defence."

"Sugar" Kaew has become one of Thailand hottest Muaythai fighters and attracts a gallery of fans when he fights at Lumpinee Stadium.

"I'm enjoying fighting Muay Thai, and I am happy to see the fans enjoy my style. I will continue to go for the KO wins."
