Fairtex sponsors muaythai in Cambodia

Thailand has always had close links with the Khmer people and the fighting spirit of the Cambodian people is well known. Today Cambodia is enjoying peace after decades of civil war. And while the Khmers have put down their weapons they are taking to the rules of ring combat in the form of muaythai.

Muaythai fight nights are attracting big crowds in the capital of Phnom Penh and the twice-weekly main cards have become major sporting events.

The Thais and the Khmers share the love and passion for muaythai. At the border city of Burriram, close to Cambodia, many great fighters gave been born and they went to Bangkok to excel as elite fighters in the main stadiums.

The brand Fairtex is being closely aligned to the Cambodia's renaissance as a nation of ring combatants. The equipment being used by the muaythai fighters in the main events in Phnom Penh is Fairtex, and the fighters are enjoying the opportunity to use quality gear."

Fairtex Chairman Philip Wong said he has been impressed with the fighting spirit and qualities displayed by the Cambodian fighters.

"There is no doubt that the Cambodians have talent in fighting the muaythai style. The fighters are improving steadily and the Cambodian fans really enjoy the spectacle of muaythai. Fairtex is pleased to be able to sponsor muaythai in Cambodia. And we are most pleased to see Fairtex known and appreciated in Cambodia for the quality of our equipment and for our association with the development of muaythai talent in Thailand, throughout Southeast Asia and everywhere around the world."
